Curriculum Committees, Cadres, & Task Forces

 

 

COMMITTEES

 

DISTRICT ADVISORY COMMITTEE (DAC)

The purpose of the DAC is to serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Education in matters pertaining to the District’s educational programs and to also serve as the District Budget Committee.

 

DISTRICT ENGLISH LANGUAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (DELAC)

DELAC consists of parents, teachers, administrators who review special education needs, achievement and programs to identify areas of improvement and to provide feedback on program direction. The task force also provides a forum to discuss new and upcoming legal issues in special education.

 

GIFTED AND TALENTED EDUCATION (GATE)

A committee of parents, teachers, administrators and community members working toward the goal of differentiating the curriculum so that GATE students are challenged in their academic, as well as their social and emotional development.

 

DISTRICT WELLNESS COMMITTEE

This committee’s task is to research nutrition and physical education programs and develop goals for nutrition education, physical activity, and other school-based activities designed to promote student wellness.

CADRES (K-6)

All cadres meet three times a year during the curriculum adoption cycle and as needed during other years to refine and renew K-6 Benchmark assessments.

VERTICAL TEAMS (6-12)

 

The goal of these teams is to discuss curriculum content, articulate expected academic skills, and provide cross-grade level coordination between elementary and secondary teachers.

 

Vertical Teams are established yearly in the following subjects:

  • English/Language Arts
  • Social Science
  • Science
  • Health/P.E.
  • English Language Learner
