Project is Complete.

Scope of Work:

The scope of work for the Atascadero Middle School Project (formerly Junior High) includes modernization of the existing facilities and construction of a new building.  The new facility will logohouse science classrooms, standard classrooms, administrative offices, and a technology center.  Modernization of the current classroom wings is anticipated to include the following:

  • New interior finishes
  • Upgraded HVAC and controls systems
  • Window replacement
  • Fire, life-safety, and accessibility upgrades as required by the Division of the State Architect (DSA)
  • New classroom technology
  • Structural improvements

Exterior work scheduled to take place throughout the campus includes:

  • Field and turf renovations
  • Underground utility upgrades
  • Upgraded track
  • Vehicle circulation and parking improvements
 
New construction started in April, 2015 and was completed in September, 2016.
 
Reconstruction of existing buildings started in June, 2016 and was completed in September, 2017.
 
Demolition of the old gym was approved by the Board and completed over winter break.
